Founder and Academic Director of Maverick brings global education experience, proven business leadership, and a parent’s insight to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and excellence in every student.
When I founded Maverick Learning Center, my goal was simple yet profound – to create a place where children don’t just memorize, but learn to think, ask questions, and build lasting habits that empower them for life.
Before dedicating myself fully to the education sector, I served as the General Manager of a local media and ISP company, where I built the team from just two employees to more than fifteen and grew the business from a small startup to the 7th largest ISP in Canada, achieving over $8 million in annual revenue within four years. That journey taught me the power of vision, persistence, and collaboration – values that continue to shape everything we do at Maverick.
As a mother of three children educated in the public education system of Toronto, I understand firsthand the challenges and aspirations of modern families – balancing academic excellence, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Having guided my own children through different stages of learning, I also deeply relate to parents’ hopes and challenges from nurturing strong study habits to building emotional resilience and lifelong curiosity.
At Maverick, our mission is to spark curiosity, foster habits, and inspire critical thinking in every student. We believe true education goes beyond grades and builds confidence, compassion, and the courage to explore new ideas.
Thank you for being part of the Maverick community! Together, we are not just supporting academic success , we are helping young minds grow into thoughtful, capable, and fearless leaders of tomorrow.
Academic Director at Maverick, combining deep academic knowledge, mentorship-driven leadership, and a passion for education to nurture confident, curious, and high-achieving students.
As Academic Director of Maverick Learning Center, my passion lies in guiding students to not only master academic concepts but also develop confidence, clarity of thought, and the ability to express themselves effectively. With extensive experience as a Math and Science educator, I have had the privilege of teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, while also working closely with students as a public speaking trainer to help them communicate ideas with confidence and purpose.
My academic journey has been deeply interdisciplinary. I earned a B.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto, followed by an M.S. in Bioengineering from Queen’s University. This foundation allows me to bridge analytical thinking with real-world problem solving, and to help students understand not just what they are learning, but why it matters.
At Maverick, I am committed to building rigorous yet supportive learning environments where curiosity is encouraged, critical thinking is cultivated, and students feel empowered to ask questions and challenge themselves. I believe that strong academic skills, when paired with effective communication and self-confidence, prepare students not just for exams, but for life beyond the classroom.
It is a privilege to work alongside families and educators who share a common goal: helping students grow into thoughtful, capable, and confident individuals ready to navigate an ever-changing world.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have seen how students thrive when they are supported academically while also being encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and speak with confidence. At Maverick, I am committed to creating a learning environment that challenges students intellectually while nurturing their curiosity, resilience, and self-belief. Whether in the sciences or through public speaking, my goal is to help students build the skills and habits that will serve them far beyond the classroom.
Meet the Maverick administrative team, committed to supporting students, parents, and educators every step of the way.
