The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an annual science competition for students aged 16 and under. It is one of the top twelve International Science Olympiad, and the only one that covers Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the same time.
The prestigious IJSO is usually held annually in December. Teams comprising up to 6 High School Students, come from all over the world.
The main purpose of this competition is to encourage, at the international level, outstanding young students to pursue scientific careers; to discover and cultivate their talents and potentials in the field of natural sciences.
The 18th IJSO hosted by the United Arab Emirate ended on December 22, 2021.
The Canadian Team performed outstandingly and won 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. Canada is the only Western country amongst the 9 gold medalists. Once again this proved to the world the advantages of Canada’s Multicultural Educational System.
Well Done, Team Canada!
